I love you period. Do you love me question mark? Please, Please exclamation point! I want to hold you in (parentheses)

On Friday, I had my first appointment to look at wedding dress…. And I found one!!! It was the fourth dress I tried on and I knew as soon as I looked in the mirror it was “The Dress”. I looked at my mom and before I could say anything she said “that’s it!” It was completely opposite of what I was looking for… in fact it was exactly what I told my consultant I didn’t want when we first walked in. So, I’m not sure how it got picked out and why I even tried it on, but I am so glad I did! It’s beautiful and I feel beautiful in it. To top it all off I feel in love with the very first veil and headpiece my consultant picked out for me, I didn’t want to take it off so I kept it on with each dress I tried on… and guess what when I got to the fourth dress it looked perfect even prettier with that dress than any other dress before. It was a great day! And to think I was worried that finding a dress was going to be the hardest and most stressful part of the planning. Since this is the one and only detail of the wedding I can keep from Kent I’m not going to go into a lot of details about the look and style of the dress on here. I want him to be completely surprised!

The Headpiece

Today, my parents and I met with the caterers and I just love them! For those of you from Adamsville they did Adam and Diane Hazel’s reception and from my Chelsea friends they also did Nick and Jessica’s reception. They do such a wonderful job and I know they will help make mine and Kent’s day even better! I’m so excited about our menu for the reception it all sounds so good!

They also gave us a name of a lady who they use for cakes and flowers. So I will be in contact with both of them soon!

Also, I found a photographer, Emily Hooten!! For those of you who know Trista and Patrick Cooper it is the same photographer they used for their wedding. She is super sweet and very talented. She had the most reasonable prices of everyone I checked on.
Picture of my dad taken by Emily Hooten at The Cooper's wedding.

Everything is falling together so well… I am so thankful for the wonderful support and encouragement from our amazing families and friends. You all are GREATLY appreciated!

A blog coming soon to list all FINAL details!

**The title of this blog is a song Kent often sings to me. He actually entertained me with this song while I was typing this blog entry!
Thanks baby for  ALL your inspiration and your patience :)

First Things First: What day will we say I do?

In the beginning of our relationship, Kent had a hard time remembering my birthday, which is 5/3. He always wanted to say 3/5. I joked with him and said you can get me a present on 3/5, but you better make sure you get me one on 5/3…

He proposed on 3/5/10 and we will get married on 3/5/11. Now he really will have a reason to get me a present on BOTH days. :)

The Proposal: March 5, 2010

He took me to Peach Park in Clanton for “ice cream”, because I had never been there before… they were about to close so we hurried and got our ice cream and headed outside… I was freezing so I kept walking just to stay warm… we walked down by the little pond and through the trail to a gazebo. I walked into the gazebo and he was right behind me and with my back still to him he started to sing My Last Name, by Dierks Bentley :

So darlin if you're wonderin, why I've got you here tonight
I wanna be your husband, I want you to be my wife
Ain't got much to give you, but what I've got means everything
It's my last name

I knew as soon as he started singing I knew what he was doing… I started to cry and when I turned around he was down on his knee with the ring in his hand (the ring I REALLY wanted!!)…

And of course I said: YES!!!!

I cried all the way back to the car… As soon as we got in the car we started making phone calls announcing our engagement.
It was perfect, it was well worth the wait!

We woke up the next morning and went and looked at houses in Calera with my parents.
Kent had a special dinner planned that night... I had no idea where we were going all I knew is that Brad, Lara & Mary Bradford was going to meet us there.

On the way he finally told me where we were meeting them: BRIO

As we were walking up we ran into his parents! Then my parents walked in... it was perfect. It was the first time his family and my family met each other. It went great! I was so happy.
He planned a PERFECT weekend!!!
